- Caring for your Candle for the Best Burn -
1. When lighting for the first time burn until wax melts across entire surface to the sides of vessel (this prevents tunneling and creates a 'Memory'.
It creates an even burn for the duration of the candle’s ‘life’) This may take up to 2-4 hours.

2. Trim wick to 5 mm before each burn to promote an even burn, steady flame and limit sooting/mushrooming of wick.

3. If soot forms on the inside of vessel, extinguish candle, wait for it to cool, then wipe with a clean damp cloth. Trim wick and relight.

4. Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.

5. Extinguish candle with a snuffer, or dip wick into melted wax and then straighten wick to prevent smoking and also prevent hot wax from splattering. Do not blow out.

6. Draughts decrease burn time, cause uneven burning, smoking and diminished scent throw.

7. Efficient burning means flame is not flickering, teardrop shaped and upright.

8. Extinguish a candle if it smokes, flickers, or the flame becomes too high. These signs indicate the candle is not burning properly and the flame isn’t controlled. Let the candle cool, trim the wick, then check for drafts before re-lighting.
Ensure that when the candle is extinguished the wick does not settle into the wax as this will cause the wax to set over the wick and may not be able to be re-lit.

9. Maximizing scent throw – open windows/doors will disperse scent. For maximum fragrance keep closed and burn in desired space for 30 mins before entering.
10. Never burn a candle below 3cms. Wax is required to burn a candle and if the wax drops below 3 cms in the jar then the candle will likely overheat and cause cracking or worst case explosions. Explosions occur when the glass becomes too hot from direct flame. This can also occur from the Wick leaning to one side.
We do not accept responsibility for any damage caused by customers outside of these instructions.
Remember- Candles must always be supervised!

DIFFUSER CARE ( Room & Car Diffusers )
1. To get the best use of your Room Diffuser, Flip your reed sticks weekly or as often you feel that you would like the smell refreshed.
2. Avoid spillages of the fragrance oil and ensure that any spills are cleaned immediately. The fragrance oil contains concentrated Raw Materials that may absorb, discolour or stain certain surfaces especially porous surfaces.
3. Your Room diffuser is best displayed on a small tray or something in between the diffuser and your surface. Storing in another way is at your own risk. We do not accept responsibility for damage to items where the diffuser has been misused or against instructions.
4. Do not consume any of the contents of the diffuser. If it is ingested please refer to the MSDS ( Material Safety Data Sheet) available at request for each fragrance. The Fragrance oils are supplied by a Third Party supplier Luxaroma who is the manufacturer of the materials used.
Jema Luxe do not accept liability for items that have not been handled or operated in the required method or as per the care instructions.
